viewing sun in red hygrogen light

Still bitterly cold but a rare and welcome sunny morn to safely view the sun via my Coronado PST telescope from indoors through double glazing Yes - it work ok if the glass is good modern 'float' glass and the telescope magnification is low. Used the campact cam in movie mode [YouTube beckons] for this montage



Not much going-on on the sun currently just past solar minimum eg no dark sunspots but a few tiny 'flames' on the edge of the sun called prominences only visible via a dedicated scope like the Coronado PST

Of course....NEVER LOOK AT THE SUN WITHOUT SPECIAL SAFE FILTERS
