Update:
dropped off the better half and daughter at Merry Hill and drove off to have a few hours with some dragonflies. Parked up and wandered down a track towards the Daphne pool on the Saltwell reserve and ....
it was flipping dry !!!! not an insect in sight flying or walking. I wish some websites would keep their pages upto date!
