Distance learning is good but you don't meet anyone - you don't get the potential contacts for potential future work that you get when studying properly. When a job came up within my old company for example , I rang my tutor to see if he knew of anyone and he gave me some names and one of those people got the job.. and I repeatedly put the cvs in for my old friends.

and thinking back there was very little information available for courses like this when I was applying for a degree I just didn't know about things like British Wildlife magazine where such courses are advertised- and he's right there is definately a lack of people with field skills coming out of uni and my Bio degree really only touched on it - I was just lucky I picked up so much as I grew up.
I don't think it's such a bad idea that proper universities could advertise on a site like this then colledge students who want to work in the environment to protect our wildlife can see the range of options open to them, other than the usual Biology / Environmental science options that everyone knows about. Maybe there should be a specific area on the site though?

Just a thought!
Sounds good to me! Would be even better it the colleges could contribute to WAB in some way. I'm sure it would be cheaper than magazine articles, and would potentially have a larger audience.
