Re: BBC looking for Wildlife Enthusiasts & Photographers

From what I gathered from my time slot, the people that got shown the door, literally got shown to the door Then when inside the little room that I was asked to wait in with about 9 other people, the girl who was looking after us told us that the people who were in the little room made the next stage (I presume the second interview that happened minutes later) and the people shown the door wouldn't return.

From the questions she asked I thought they were looking for people with some previous experience of travelling and who genuinely wanted to work for the BBC at the end of it (and obviously a huge interest in animals, but that's probably taken for granted if you're being interviewed).
I got the impression that they really wanted to see a raw passion for the wild and nature rather than experience of travels, photography or film. There were loads of people who took extra information (things that weren't requested to bring) like diving charts and things to show experience. I didn't take anything as the email stated to bring your passport only- so that's what I did They wanted to get an overview of the person rather than a CV.
