Re: Recommendations for an African Safari???

I have been to kenya a few times now. I suggest the first thing you need to do is check as to how much of a hammering your finances can take. Due to the large number of places to do your safari in Kenya, you really need to consider whether you want a fkly safari or road safari. If you fly, you will be need about £3000 + each for a week safari. I suggest you check out Kuoni (We stayed at their 'Mara Bushtops' recently and it was fantastic.) A drive safari will be about £1,800 each, can also be very good but the roads are no where near UK standards. Thomas Cook signature holidays in Kenya are a reasonable price as are Virgin holidays. One question you really need to ask the tour operator is whether everyone on the vehilce gets a guaranteed window seat. Some of the vehilces I saw driving round had people crammed into them. The last thing you want to do is go all the way out there just to see the back of someone's head. Kenya is truely fantistic and if you do not make it there this time I strongly suggest you put it on your 'list of places to visit one day'
