However, unless you're a 2 hour 15 marathon runner, or one of the top fell runners in the world, you haven't a realistic chance of breaking the record. Just take a look at the record holder's split times on the website "history of the Welsh 3000's" and you'll know what I mean - awesome! You"ll have to sprint along the Crib Goch ridge!
Anyway, best of luck. It's a superb walk/run, and something to remember all your life. |
The last marathon I did I came in in just under 4.5 hours - but that was a while ago, I may also be running london next year for WAB if we get places.
I have no claim to be superfit (yet

) and frankly I'd be happy to come in under the 1932 firbank record, my last attempt in 1994 came in in a tad over 8hrs 12 so I know how hard it will be, but we shall see - The main purpose (other to impress the ladeez obviously

) is to raise awareness of WAB by getting as much editorial as possible about the attempt.
If it is obvious in the fullness of time that I cannot hope to make a realistic attempt on the 3000s record I will go for something else like the civie record over the fan dance ( came close to that once), or trying to win, or at least place in the running iron, or the royal hills, or... well the list is endless.
