Anyway I'm thinking about trying to break the welsh three thousands record as a publicity stunt/ sponsored fundraiser for WAB. (for those that dont know this is the record for getting to the tops of all the 3000ft peaks in the snowdon range in the shortest time)

Its currently a tad under 5hours as set by a fell runner in 03 (prior to that it had stood at just over 8 hours since 1932)

If I go for this i would expect to get decent coverage in running mags, and outdoor magazines such Trail, plus possibly in the national press. Which would be a brilliant way to promote the site.

Anyway the reason for this post is that I really would prefer to do this with a running mate and I wondered if any other wabbers out there who would be up for it.

If you are either post here or send me a PM
I thoroughly admire your ambition, and, having done the 3000's twice myself (once from the top of Snowdon and once all the way from Llanberis - and that was a long way) I can understand what motivates you.

However, unless you're a 2 hour 15 marathon runner, or one of the top fell runners in the world, you haven't a realistic chance of breaking the record. Just take a look at the record holder's split times on the website "history of the Welsh 3000's" and you'll know what I mean - awesome! You"ll have to sprint along the Crib Goch ridge!

Anyway, best of luck. It's a superb walk/run, and something to remember all your life.
