| Re: Autumnwatch 2008 : Brownsea Island, Dorset Managed to remember to watch it tonight, and was pleasantly surprised. The Brownsea location seems to have a lot going for it, with the "lagoon", sika deer etc. I agree there is only so much rutting and seal babies - however adorable - you can watch over 2 weeks of hour long progs, but so far so good.
Incidentally, did anyone catch Kate and Bill's interview on BBC Breakfast this morning? I don't want to start another round of "Bill bashing" as I think he does a great job on the programme itself, and the banter and ocassional niggles between him and Kate often add to the entertainment. But this morning, he was at his worst - couldn't hear on his earpiece link to the studio, and spent almost the whole 5 minute feature waffling on about modern technology breaking down, and saying he was pleased he couldn't hear the comments in the studio, as they obviously didn't know anything about wildlife. Poor Kate was left standing there, open-mouthed and unable to even get a word in the try to salvage the situation. Its such a shame he feels the need to let himself down like that, as he is such a knowledgable bloke and obviously so passionate about wildlife. No wonder people moan about him! |
