| Re: Anyone know a good Wildlife book or DVD? Hi i_love_animals.
A warm welcome to WAB. I'm sure you'll find lots of interest here.
One of my favourite books on British wildlife is: -
"Fauna Britannica" by Stefan Buczacki. (Hamlyn - ISBN 0 600 59867 5).
The book is larger than A4 size, hardback, about 40mm thick, and has over 500 pages.
Another favourite is: -
"The Natural History of the British Isles", by Mike & Peggy Briggs. (Parragon - ISBN 1-40545-685-X). This book is also larger than A4 size, hardback, about 30mm thick, with nearly 400 pages.
Both books are crammed full of superb photographs and detailed articles.
A more locally specialised book, and a great favourite of mine is: -
"Wildlife of Lancashire".
Published by Carnegie Publishing Ltd. for The Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
(ISBN 1-85936-118-8).
That book is just less than A4 size, hardback, about 25mm thick, with 340 pages. I don't think that you'd find a better book of its kind available. Again full of brilliant photographs & articles. (Includes Sea Life, Lower Plants, Wildflowers, Fungi, Ferns, Mammals, Birds, Reptiles, Freshwater Life, Invertebrates. etc. etc.).
Best regards
Mike. |
