Hello from the artist formally known as “Kev”.

Hellooo
I thought I’d take the opportunity of a username change to formally introduce myself

I’ve been interested in the animal world since as far back as I can remember, and have had every kind of pet imaginable so I guess wildlife photography is a natural extension to this.
I took it up properly in 1997 when those good people at the Halifax BS decided quite kindly that because of a merger with the Leeds BS they would give me some dosh just for being with both of them, Hence a sparkling brand new Nikon F5 camera gave me my 1st serious introduction to the hobby, I went on a college course doing Black & white photography including exposing and printing, burning & dodging and all those type of things and also went on some courses with some of the professional wildlife photographers learning the trade.
Most of my stuff is on slides but last year I bought a D70, which I sold along with the rest of my camera’s and have just purchased a D200, hoorah.
I prefer wildlife photography with an artistic point of view, although of course it does depend on the circumstances.

I think the member’s pics on this site have inspired me to have a go at the smaller critters & plants and hopefully I can try to portray these in an artistic light.

My other hobbies include Guitar, music, painting, reading, gardening and slaughtering defenceless innocent cute furry creatures.
OK that last one wasn’t true, actually I’m a member of the RSPCA, RSPB and friends of the earth.

I’m brother to the member “Alan”, and some would say that I’m the Evil older twin brother, but you don’t believe that do you?, Mwaaaahhhaaa

Hope to put some of my shots in the Gallery very soon.
Thanks for putting up with me here

Capt’n Kev
