there propably should be more rigour in reporting generally - you only have to look at political, economic, environment, and even sport to see that the average journalist has only the shakiest grasp of what they are talking about.
I recently read a piece in the guardian buisness section where the journalist conflated bull and bear trading.
and dont event get me started on the general standard of english.
