Does your camera not have an automatic switch off after a certain time? I can switch mine from between 30 seconds to 30minutes with times in between. I have mine set for 5 minutes which gives me time to alter settings then chase the illusive creature I want to get without needing to switch on again. Look at your camera settings, you may be able to do the same.
