Well 1st impressions are pretty good, the weather was pretty bad last night so didn't venture into the forest but i managed a stroll down our farm track in total darkness without any problems. I would say the range would be improved with better IR spotlight but the image quality is certainly usable. I think it will be ideal for when i'm in the woods/up a tree etc with a range of around 100ft (it doesn't magnify much) i wear glasses so it took me a while to sort the focus out but once done i could see a couple of Roe deer in the field and some great toads!.
I will hopefully get a dry night soon so i can get into the forest and give it a good test. Am i glad i bought it? Yes, its an ideal starter scope and will be great fun! I will still be getting a top of the range Nightvision set up as it has given me the bug (don't all wildlife watching gadgets?) and means i can continue watching long after the sun goes down.

Ok that sounds pretty succesful...and i can totally imagine it setting up the bug for then spending thousands of pounds in the future...maybe i shouldnt get one after all
