To be honest Chris I like the idea of having HiDef video at the touch of a button, I'm really excited about this camera it ticks all the boxes as far as I'm concerned.
The low fps is there for a reason to make people buy the 50D

The 5D has always been the Landscape/Wedding/Portrait photographers tool of choice, who does not have the budget for the 1D's.
As I do video and stills it will save be carrying a boat load of gear around for starters. Instead of the stills and video camera I can just take the stills that has video also

The future is a camera that shoots stills and video at a high enough resolution that is can be used in a professional capacity for both those fields. And the 5D is the first from Canon that can for fill that role. It's then down to you the user how you want to use it, which IMO is the greatest flexibility we can have, it will certainly save my back in the future that's for sure
