Re: garden moth for id please :)

I went to Cornwall for a few days birding with my mate and managed to do one two hour moth trap on Tuesday and my mate managed the same on the Sunday (in-between the rain showers). Some good moths were caught, although not too many moths were trapped overall. I thought you would like to see a few of them, some are firsts for the Gallery.

1 Yellow-barred Brindle. (Trapped by my mate)

2. Cypress Pug (Trapped by my mate) (a first for the Gallery)

3. Dark Spectacle (Trapped by me) (a first for the Gallery)

4. The Delicate (trapped by my mate) This is an immigrant.

5. Frosted Orange (trapped by my mate)

6. Pink-barred Sallow (trapped by my mate)

7. Rosy Rustic (trapped by me)

8. Pyrausta despicata (trapped by me) (a first for the Gallery)

9. The Nutmeg (trapped by my mate)

10. Small Wainscot (trapped by me) (a first for the Gallery)

11. Common Marbled Carpet (trapped by me) (An unusual colour form for this moth)

12. Burnished Brass (trapped by me)

12. Knot Grass (trapped by me)

That's it for now.

John
