I'm also by the corner of four maps (and in my previous home I was on the edge of three maps).
I've often moaned about this fact, but I've just realised that's it is actually an advantage for me. It depends on how large an area you're interested in - if that area will fit on one map then obviously it's best to be in the centre of a map (or else you'll need to order one of these new OS Select maps), and being in a corner would be a real pain.
But if like me, you're interested in an area slightly larger than will fit on one map, then being in a corner is great! I've bought the four maps whose corners meet near my home, and they cover a good area all around me, certainly all the area I can possibly walk directly from my home. Now if my home was in the centre of a map, to cover the same area that these four maps do I'd actually have to purchase 7 or 8 maps - the one my home is on and all the ones bordering it (they'd cover a lot of extra area that I wouldn't be interested in).
Just trying to think positively (a first for me!).
