Good luck to you Eeyore, I hope you do it. Have you tried to get sponsorship off some of the outdoorsey companies. I may of joined you about 15 years ago as I used to do quite a bit of running, mostly longer distance, but I am now nearly the wrong side of 40 and not so much into challenges.................Jon |
I've tried it before with my mate jamie back in '94 We did it in just over 8 hours, missing the then record by 13 miniutes , give or take a few seconds.
We ran everywhere except for crib goch which we walked briskly - we ran the tryfan ridge though wich was pretty scary - but no worse than the running iron or the fan dance (for the uninitated the latter is a route over pen y fan, originally devised by the SAS for their selection but now run by idiots like me trying for the civilian record - the army (and overall) record being well out of reach of ordinary mortals.)
I'm going to do it even if I have to run alone or drag in one of my mates from outside wab - but it would be better publicity wise if another Wabber was up for it. When I we get everything set up we will need a couple of volunteers on top of most of the peaks with water etc, plus people to try for sponsorship etc.
Thing is even if I fail I bet we can get trail etc to cover the attempt so Wab will benefit regardless.
