Yes, as Dogghound has said, Grass Snakes lay their eggs in hot places (fermenting compost heaps) and let the natural heat do the work of incubating. I share Dogghound's doubts that this egg will develop. I will try and contact my GrassSnake expert friend to see if he has any ideas.
