This is a well worn deer 'creep'.
Deer tend to prefer to go under or through fences where they can, & use the same points over & over agian. The bottom of the wire often becomes greasy where their coat rubs against it, & if it is barbed wire, may pick up some hairs. Foxes & Badgers will also use them The tracks in the mud either side of the fence will give the species away.
