Re: Disappearing bees

There are different types of Bee boxes on the market, it depends what type of Bees you want to attract. The ones made from Bamboo canes or paper tubes are to attract solitary Bees such as Red & Blue Masons. You can buy Bumble Bee boxes (resembles a small wooden shoe box with an entrance hole) which you place on the ground under a shrub etc but I've never heard anyone having much success with these. (I have both types in my garden). The Bumble boxes need to be in place in the early Spring in the hope that the early queens searching for a nest site will find them.
