Thanks everyone!

Definitely a grass snake... he wasn't a baby though! Quite a healthy size.

We see them quite regularly- almost trod on one a week ago on the gravel so this one's just taken a wrong turn and ended up in here.

Trouble is, he probably thinks that under the work surface is nice, warm and dark- so won't venture out.

Will leave the door open overnight and hope he's gone by tomorrow!
