Also liked the look of solar ovens .. but dont think we would manage to cook much in our summers.

My mum used to regularly use a hay box at guide camp they only had a fire type thing to cook on (bricks, corrugated iron sheet on which the fire was built and then a grill suspended over the flames with more bricks) good for sausages and things but for stews the hay box was the best tool.


going back to the bread making I just dusted off my old bread maker (10 years old now!!) and I haven't used it in around 2 years - and at least one of those years it was out in my mum's shed!! Its just turned out a lovely loaf!! Good on Panansonic in an age where technological gadgets seem built to last a year only!
