Yo nightshade i'm using a Panasonic FZ-20 it's got a great zoom(420mm 35mm equiv) on it & it allows you to get within an inch or two of your subject for some good macro shots.
The biggest downside for me are the photos have quite a bit of noise even at the lowest iso setting.
