I guess this is a female? I think it was about 50cm. The other two I saw were too quick for pictures. This one let me creep very close and hold the camera "in its face". I wouldn't have wanted to get any closer once I saw how fast it was. Do adders strike like a cobra?
It also hissed which I never expected from an adder. I see why they have a bad reputation as their expression is so mean-looking. |
