I used straw last year and it worked so well I could see the bottom of the pond (3ft deep). Haven't used it this year as the blanketweed is not such a problem.
I have found the best way to remove blanketweed is to swirl a bamboo cane around the blanketweed same as they do with candyfloss at the fair. |
