I'm with Pete on this. I think that patio heaters are a truly ridiculous idea, probably the most inefficient devices it's possible to buy today and a complete waste of money.
The only thing I would add to that (and I think I said this on another thread about banning something) is that I'm opposed on principle to banning anything. If we don't want people to use patio heaters then we need to persuade them that we're right when we say that they "are a truly ridiculous idea, probably the most inefficient devices it's possible to buy today and a complete waste of money." If we can do that successfully then a ban will not be necessary.
