Last year a group of trainee TV journalists came to the quay to 'interview' some of us and I got them with the 'its going to rain story'. I offered a bit of traditional weather lore. Look across the harbour, can you see the church on the hill; can you see the flagpole on top of the church. They carefully focused their camera on the flagpole. Then I told them the going to rain/is raining story.
You could see by their faces that they were young and guillable; and the obvious pain of their 'we've been had' expression. |
