Very true. Although not totally failed, I partitioned my WD500Gb external, 400Gb is for photo backup and the other 65Gb was supposed to be for an image of my system drive. However, something (don't ask me what) has gone wrong with the smaller partition and it thinks its 1.4Tb !!! I've tried everything to recover this partition and get it back to normal to no avail.
