I've been watching 2 jackdaws nest near my house and one of them keeps guard from the tree at the end of my driveway.
He (I assume it's the male?) has a 2 note call, high note first, lower note second which I take to be a warning call as I hear it mostly when there are cats around.
He *sometimes* follows this call up with a VERY melodic bit consisting of maybe 5 or 6 notes and then back to the 2 note call.
I haven't been able to find recordings of these online yet, just the one normal call that you associate with the jackdaw.
Do any of you know what I'm talking about?
