There are a few, not many mind, construction firms that have realised that green space is so important. They are at least beginning to add things like roof gardens to sky scrapers, window boxes and green open spaces in between structures. Once the idea becomes'hip', more will follow.I do speak with experience here to because my husband has been in the construction industry for 28 years and there is a definite move towards being greener. As he said, green space and the recycling of old materials would have had no consideration in planning 10 years ago but now the change is coming. Whether it is too late to reverse the process of species extinction, remains to be seen. Sadly, probably not. ww |
