| Re: Could we have a Video Thread please??? First Class idea.
The subject can be a mine field for the beginner - best camera, tripod, sound equipment, editing software etc, etc.
I've only been into video for the past five years before that it was 16mm and before that as a wee lad 8mm.
Currently using a Canon XL H1 and XL2 with a variety of EOS lens, 100-400mm, 600mm, 180mm macro, Sigma 300-800mm. Arrow / Miller 925-55 fluid head tripod, Fostex Field Recorder and various gun mikes. Editing - Final Cut on a Apple Mac.
Always willing to give any advice, although I'm working and filming on Natural History in the professional end of the subject and not much up on camcorders at the lower end of the price bracket.
As for Johnny K - don't knock the guy, I know him well a good decent down to earth chap that's brought something to the box that was much needed. Over the past few years we've seen so much from the more remote and exotic areas of the world its good to get back home. I myself have had numerous opportunities to travel and film , but prefer to stay on home ground where there is still a magnitude of down to earth subjects to film - as Mr K has shown.
