Yes... this is Bombylius major.

If you are on the heaths in the summer, especially those south of Poole Harbour, you will see B. minor in abundance in late July. It is nationally a very scarce species. You should also see Thyridanthrax fenestratus flying over compacted sandy paths (from late June). Two more good reasons to enjoy Dorset!
