M better half suprised me this evening by asking me to get her a camera. She is after a small "point & shoot" digital. That description is a salesmans dream customer walking through the door lol So to add to that description x3 or better optical zoom and probably from Sony, Canon or Nikon. It will only be used for point & shoot at family gatherings and the like so a huge amount of technical gadgetry isnt needed. Cost isn't a real problem as long as it's less than £500
Any of you bought a compact recently and thought "damn this is good"
or have trawled through the options available? I tend to read up on DSLRs rather than look at the compacts so any help greatly appreciated.
