Re: National Wetlands Centre Wales

It's an excellent place to visit...I worked there as a full time volunteer for about a year after graduating from Swansea Uni 10 years ago, and it's a great place for wild birds as well as the "duck zoo"! The Burry Inlet is a RAMSAR site, and attracts large numbers of waders.

During my time there I saw several spoonbill, a long billed dowitcher (American migrant) and many of the more usual British wildfowl and waders.

It's also a hotspot for birds of prey, who hunt on the Marshes of the Burry Inlet..Peregrines are spotted almost daily, and Merlin, Hen Harrier, Sparrowhawk, short and long eared owls, are also fairly frequent.

It's only 10 minutes from my house, which is also a bonus!
