I suspect there are a lot of people like me where it is not possible to let anyone know what you are doing, where you are going and when you will be back. If I don't know what chance has anyone of knowing.

During the 11 years that I lived alone and before the advent of mobile phones I got into the habit of speaking by phone to my mother most days. Certainly while on holiday I had to check in with her every 24 hours. It was no disadvantage in those days as it meant an evening trip to the pub or bar to use the phone!!!

Also I was in a car - tho it has been parked in some out of the way places. I used to leave a card in the car (not on view) saying where I intended to go that day.

These days I have to phone my mother everyday to make sure she is ok! My doesn't the world turn! And when she forgets to put the phone back properly and I get a disengaged tone for ages I then have to get in the car and go down and find out why - and usually tell her off for causing me to worry........ my doesn't it go round and come around.............
