| Re: dead computer Mine's pretty quick but then I've got firewire. Saying that the one on my work machine is usb 2 and its not that bad (its the tescos special)
I wouldnt use one as my primary boot and programs disc but they are excellent for catalouging the pho library and for backing up the C: drive for when the primary disk goes south.
I have three 250Gb and one 500Mb lacie fire wire drives for my photo library (which is also stored on CD at a different location for last resort back up) 3 hold the library 1 each for birds, mammals, landscapes) with the fourth backing them up. I also have a freecom 250Gb backing up my C: drive and a 60GB USB powered portable on the work machine that hold all my WAB stuff.
On top of all this I also have a 40GB flashtrax for back up in the field.
