I have a copy of Izaac Waltons the compleat angler the edition was published in 1880 and was owned by a vicar from London,

He has inserted into the book his records of his visits to dovedale in the late 19th century .where much of the book referred to and early articles from the Times that referred to the condition of Waltons cottage and other fishing related items. There is also part of his own journal detailing his fishing in 1890. He has written on many pages with comments and notes and although I would never usually buy books that have been written in The beautiful handwriting and quality of the writing makes for fascinating reading, whenever I read it its like stepping back a couple of centuries.
Which Doverdale are you referring to as theres Doverdale Worcestershire. Not that one I guess?!
