| Re: Adding images to the Gallery Petlyn,
Let me try to explain the procedure (as I say there used to be a helpful video showing what you do).
1. Click on 'Gallery' at the top of the page under the WildAboutBritain banner
2. Click on 'Upload', towards the top right of the page.
3. You have to choose where you want to upload the photo - if it's a good quality one it should go in the Gallery, if its a lesser quality one for identification or a forum post, it goes in the Image Archive. Click on the appropriate Upload button at the bottom of the page.
4. Select the appropriate section (default is 'member galleries', use 'Unidentified' or 'Forum Image' if uploading to Image Archive, or whatever is appropriate if uploading to the Gallery, such as 'Birds').
5. Click on the 'Browse' button. search your folders and select the photo you want to upload. (You can repeat this for a number of photos if you want to, but to keep things simple just do one at a time for now).
6. Enter a title ("usual name - scientific name" e.g. Great tit - Parus major)
7. Enter some Keywords (title without the hyphen)
8. Add some details if you like e.g. where photo was taken
9.Click on Upload/Submit
10. In the Image Archive, they appear straightaway. For the Gallery they have to be moderated for quality, so may take some hours to appear.
There are rules about the image size for photos in the Gallery (I think the details are on the FAQ, click on the 'Info' button near the top of the page).
To include a photo in a post, cut and paste the 'Forum Code' from under the photo in the gallery.
To find your photo in the galleries, I usually click on 'My photos' (in the Gallery or Image Archive, as appropriate) to see only my photos. Click on a photo to enlarge it and see the Forum Code.
Hope that helps!
Typing it all out makes it sound complicated, but it isn't really, you'll soon get the hang of it.
