Who is watching who?

Hi
Just thought I would tell you came face to face with a stoat this week. I was in my workroom and it peeped through the closed patio door. It was as surprised as I was. Not seen one that close before, beautiful round ears, colouring, and friendly beady eyes. Reminded me of a kitten. After the encounter it ran across the front lawn up the drive across the road and away...the speed of lightening.
Also had an encounter with a squirrel this week. Got a photo as evidence. It likes the bird nuts in the basket suspended from the bird café. We have a lovely oak tree with acorns bountiful which they bury in the autumn. How many do they need?
We also have a very persistent, fit blackbird who likes to jump from the ground up to the lard covered fir cone. It takes a mouthful and is back down on the ground in a flash. They always wait for the squabbling starlings to throw food off the table before they scoop it up and then hide under the hedge. Surprising isn’t it, what you see when you are not really looking.
