The shots with the birds on a branch was an experiment as i placed the branch on the feeder in the hope that something would land on it.. It paid off to a certain extent I would have liked to have had greenery in the background but due to the location of the shed window I couldn't ..
These pictures are a lot better than the one from yesterday but not quite as good as i was aiming for..

Yes, you are very fortunate having Linnets visiting your feeders. I have seen a photo before of this species visiting feeders, but it's still pretty unusual, but birds change their habits + maybe more will latch on to the freebies available in gardens. Goldfinches have become a common garden bird in last decade or so + are expected to be in the Top 10 for the first time this w/e for the Big Garden Birdwatch.
