I can't text in abbreviations - it takes me so long to work them out/remember them that it's quicker to key in full!
I think the whole point about this is that for abbreviations to work
everyone involved must understand them.
WAB would probably be understood by everyone on this forum but out in the wider world it would mean something different. And ask a selection of people what AA stands for ...
Of course everyone has a right to write what they like but surely the aim of writing is to communicate something. If the person receiving the message doesn't understand it then your'e not communicating and are wasting your own and other peoples' time ...
