My BOTD is again one of our daily visitors. We have 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers that visit us every day, (male and female), and 1 male Green Woodpecker that
bounces in occasionally.
This photo below was taken a few minutes ago, and shows the female (trust me, there's no red at the rear of her crown / top of the nape).
Unfortunately it was taken from distance, through double glazing. But its no too bad, considering that...
We have set up a suetty, nutty, mealwormy 8' post in the garden, 8 weeks ago (I'm sure I mentioned it on WAB), which our male GSW discovered briefly 2 days ago - only to be frightened off by a (very rare indeed) car, trundling up the service road behind us. Bad timing

!
I'm off to buy one of those cheapy camo tents from a well known high street store today, with a view of getting some really nice, (close up) photographs and even (with luck) a video or two of our head-banging friends.
All they've got to do is pluck up the courage to re-discover a veritable feast for them, in our garden...
