I'd be surprised if that degree of zoom was sharp at either end of the range, as even the expensive Swaros only zoom 20 - 60 I think.
Above x40 zoom you need a very sturdy tripod. As I've mentioned in other threads, when I bought my Viking scope, I was
very dissapointed, until I put it on a really solid and smooth manfrotto. IMO cheaper tripods are worse than cheaper scopes
