I gather you have downloaded or installed the latest version of msn messenger? ( or windows live messenger i think its called)?....

Now....your pc to pc chat...there are a few versions...

the basic that most use is typing to each other in messenger....you type a line...hit enter...they reply with a line....hit enter....you reply back etc

stage two is chatting in the same way ( typing) but you can see each other on your webcams? ( if you have them?)

stage three is to do away with the typing....and chat on webcams with sound..you need a microphone/cam or headset mic....this is in effect a phone conversation with pictures ( and free )

or if you dont have cam i believe you can chat with sound by connecting to phones or pc ( which i guess is what your doing?)

all these are possible with msn messenger provided you have a cam and or a mic...and have installed the latest version..

once you BOTH have all this in place you just simply click on the name of your friend then in the box that opens click on the phone icon and i think it says "call computer" or if you have cam click the "Video Call" icon....

poking in facebook is nothing more than giving them a poke ...usually to let them know your online etc....the online feature is the one thing most people dont know about?....click the little arrow next to the "friends" tag at the top to see whos online
