I've tried to put this answer to your kind email but its been returned - there may be a fault as I see folks have been having trouble getting in - whilst I have been logged on all day..................

So thank you - for the kind words snowdrop........ I'm sorry to hear you are suffering and maybe your loss is more recent in time than mine? Its hard to explain how to deal with it and everyone does it differently and yet it all comes down to the same in the end.

I've learned to hide it from view for the most part in order to regain normal interaction with folks again as I think doing that is a cycle that is self feeding - you try and act normal and eventually you do act normal. I don't think its denial its just a way of coping with something that cannot be altered. It then takes a very close or acute person to see the cracks - or an unwary and sudden post is blurted out which screams the obvious - as I did today! Actually it was cherrybees post about missing her mum sister and someone else close that set me off............ I was going to say its nice to know others suffer - but thats not what I mean! Its a relief to know that your not as mad as you think you are at times and to see, read or hear someone else admit that the cuts are deep.....

Bereavement I now see with hindsight does take a long time if you loved or were very close to someone. I'm the clone of my dad and he won't be entirely gone while I'm around and sometimes I feel he hasn't gone all that far but that might come down to being made from his genes rather than anything spiritual or supernatural! He had a cracking sense of humour and I'm just like him!

Anyway I wish all of us who have got to know loss a peaceful 2008............

Regards
Pauline
