Mallorca [Majorca] is a truly wonderful island for both flora and fauna. Get away from the tourist hot spots [the drunks] and you are in for a treat.
I have seen wild tortoise, Hermannīs Tortoise - Testudo hermanni, crossing the road and photographed many varieties of orchids in their natural habitat.
The reserve in the north of the island at S'alburfera must be one of the best locations in Europe. Black-winged stilt and marsh harriers abound.
