Well we had a few days in the Cardigan bay area ,the weather was a bit iffy, warm, cloudy, occasional rain.
Wildlife-wise two areas really stood out Poppit sands near Cardigan and Aberporth, the latter was definitely my favourite.
The cliff top walks are spectacular the paths flanked with wildflowers, I think the main white flower is scurvey-grass,and scrubby shrubs full of birds which I only caught glimpses of.
The rocks at the foot of the cliffs have a good selection of oyster catchers and curlews, all in all there are purported to be some sixty+species in the area, alas no sign of the
Bottle-nosed Dolphins or seals(talking to locals they should show up anytime now)
No sign either of, red-kites many buzzards, lots of gulls, need a longer lense than 300mm,nice rivers, Cenarth has a lovely bridge and a national coracle centre (closed for building work on the day I visited)
All in all Aberporth is a nice place to operate from( in my opinion),and the whole coastline has a lot to offer, we covered Poppit sands to Aberystwyth around the cardigan bay(somewhere a lane was lined with wild wallflowers the scent in the warm air was intoxicating)
Next places to look at will be Dinas head,Skomer island and Gigrin farm when time allows
