There's always some lovely little stories from Bolton, Blackpool, etc, about (usually) the goalie (because they are slightly mad) doing an 8 day non-stop shift finishing at noon on the saturday and then cycling down to Wembley to arrive just in time for 3pm to play a Wolstenholme-commentated smashing game.
Maybe I exaggerate slightly, but not much!
