| Re: Obesity Eating too much fat and sugar, in alcohol or whereever it is lurking and then a small amount of exercise will lead in time to a fatter body. Lots of people get put off exercise at school. Many girls, especially, never do any sports or exercise once they leave school. If you are not naturally good at it, it doesn't do much for you. PE and sports teachers obviously prefer those pupils who are good at it. If you are born with short legs it's harder to be a fast runner, or leap over vaults, and the ones who are the right shape get all the praise. The rest get fed up. Perhaps school sports should have some activities that everyone can be good at, like yoga, and encourage walking and cycling for the fun of it and the health benefits rather than for competition and try to put the habit of exercise into a daily routine. |
