We're looking at ways of being able to place photos in multiple categories, so that species can be grouped by colour, family, habitat etc and appear in all of the different area at the same time. It's a major job, but it's one that we'd really like to get sorted fairly soon.
Until then, you can avoid scrolling by clicking on the '...images per page' link when viewing the thumbnails and choosing a smaller group of images i.e. 30 per page.
The
Firefox Browser is also a great help when viewing the gallery as it holds recent page views in a cache so it doesn't have to reload the images every time you go back to a thumbnail page.
